As we say adieu to 2011, ISES New England has much to celebrate and even more to look forward to in 2012!
We had a strong and productive first half of the year with our teams of committees hard at work to bring you quality membership benefits you expect. Guided by the theme “You Make a Difference”, each committee began the year with three specific goals that they used to fuel their activities. Here’s just a little recap of what we’ve accomplished so far:
The Program Committee proudly introduced our very first Cape Cod meeting in October, opening up dialog with a whole new group of professionals from that region. Plans are underway to make this an annual event and broaden ISES/NE’s reach into new and profitable territories. So far, we have offered seminars on Team Bonding, Strengthening Supplier/Planner Relationships, and Time Management. But that is just the beginning….2012 promises a jam packed season with meetings that include Networking Techniques, Panel Presentations, Round Table Discussions covering all aspects of promoting your image, and a not-to-be missed visual feast by celebrity planner, Sasha Sousa! And we can’t forget to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ISES as we get closer to the Eventworld conference in August.
We will also be teaming up with industry allies, NACE (Feb meeting) and ISES/RI (March meeting) to widen the networking opportunities for all of our attendees. It’s always fun when we collaborate with others and these meetings will give us great opportunity to offer some fun surprises and twists on the average meeting. Stay tuned!
Our Membership Committee is strong and full of energy! Its dedicated members have been working tirelessly, contacting inactive members and reintroducing the benefits of participating in this great group. We are currently in the midst of a membership drive and now’s a great time to introduce your colleagues to the benefits of an ISES membership. Don’t forget, if a new member puts your name on the “referred by” line, you save $25 off of your next year’s dues – and there’s no limit to how many credits you can receive. You can’t beat that deal! Students abound! Thanks go out to our Career Development committee who has created a database of active students and is coordinating their volunteer efforts within our programming. Did you know there are students looking to assist at your functions to obtain additional on-the-job training? Soon, we’ll have a location on the web site for you to post requests for labor. For now, please contact Desiree Modano at desiree@rentals-unlimited.net for more information on how you can recruit students for your next event.
Do you like our new look? Thanks to the Communications Committee, we have a fresh, new facelift on our home page and conversation flows on our Facebook Page and through Twitter. We’re working hard to stay on the cutting edge of the way you like information. But remember, communication goes both ways. We want to hear from you!
